Jo was born on the Wirral, in the UK. Her love of theatre began at the tender age of five when she tap danced in a Christmas show at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall following in her mother's footsteps who was a dancer!

At the age of 12 she moved to Durban, South Africa with her family and her acting work continued in various school productions. She was inspired by the work at The Market Theatre in Johannesburg having been lucky enough to see a production of "Woza Albert" there.

Her love of the Arts led to further study in a combined Arts degree back in the UK.

She took up Journalism on the student newspaper and worked as a reporter after leaving university, covering stories for newspapers and radio. Her work in radio and television has given Jo the opportunity to work as a presenter for the BBC, ITN, The Weather Channel and as a travel reporter for Sky Television she has the enviable job of travelling to some of the most exotic corners of the world. As a radio host she has worked for Capital Radio, Talk Radio and the US Channel CNBC. Jo manages to combine her presenting with her work as an actor.

She studied at LAMDA for a post graduate diploma in classical acting, playing Goneril in "King Lear", Cornelia in "The White Devil", Alonso in "The Tempest", Yelena in "Uncle Vanya" and Lady Fanciful in "The Provoked Wife".

She has also worked in Stratford-Upon-Avon in "The Duchess of Malfi" and in London in Christopher Durang's "Short Plays" and the musical play, "The Cheeky Chappie".

Her film work includes the Channel 4 short comedy "Heap of Trouble", which when on to win a BAFTA. Feature credits include: "Olympiad" with Brian Blessed and Roy Dotrice, "Flamingo Blues", "Number 1 Longing", "Number 2 Regret" with Jenny Agutter, "Dead Room Stories", "Jet Lag", "Nine Days of Hell" and "Screaming Blue Murder". Television includes: "Merseybeat" and "Crime Team" and short films include: "Last Words", "Love after a Fashion", "The Glass Kiss", "Inhale", "Call the Coroner" and "Eros Aieu".

Jo's love of singing and dancing has most recently led to her performing at The Adelphi Theatre, West End in a masterclass for the musical "Chicago".
